Rupture of a saphenous vein bypass graft during coronary angioplasty.
A self-limited rupture of a five month old saphenous vein bypass graft occurred during coronary angioplasty when the balloon used to stretch the vessel proved to be too large. A lack of fibrous tissue in the new graft may have predisposed it to rupture.

Coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG) are widely studied with respect to hemodynamic conditions which play important role in presence of a restenosis. However, papers which concern with constitutive modeling of CABG are lacking in the literature. The purpose of this study is to find a constitutive model for CABG tissue. A sample of the CABG obtained within an autopsy underwent an inflation–exten...

The saphenous vein is one of the most commonly used conduits during coronary artery bypass grafting. Saphenous vein graft markers have been introduced to facilitate coronary angiography procedures in the follow-up of patients with ischaemic heart disease. However, today these markers have only a historical aspect. This report presents a 61-year-old patient who had undergone coronary artery bypa...

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) was first used in the late 1960s. This revolutionary procedure created hope among ischemic heart disease patients. Multiple conduits are used and the golden standard is the left internal mammary artery to the left anterior descending artery. Although all approaches were advocated by doctors, the use of saphenous vein grafts became the leading approach used...
